The Committee is here to represent the members of the society, as well as to responsibly spend the club's capitation and any funds to hold events throughout the year. The committee is Elected at the AGM, which is held towards the end of each academic year, and if all places on the committee have not yet been filled, members will be elected at an EGM at the start of the year. The First Year Rep is also elected at this meeting, which is an introduction to the society for new members, and a chance for prospective members who miss out on Fairs Day to see what the Society has to offer. Throughout the year, the committee members schedule lessons, rehearsals, gigs, and other events, and everyone on the committee helps to organise and does their best to make sure that everything runs smoothly. The Committee meets once a week to discuss any issues, after which any news is sent out to the Society Members through email, and placed on the website. Chairperson

Beccy Fitzpatrick (rebecca.fitzpatrick7[at]mail.dcu.ie)

The boss of the whole operation. The chair delegates jobs and oversees all the activities of the society. Chairs committee meetings and makes sure everything gets done!

 

Secretary

Cat Flynn (cathriona.flynn23[at]mail.dcu.ie)

Second in command. Helps the Chairperson with all the organisation and is in charge of taking minutes at committee meetings.

 

Treasurer

Kevin Smith (kevin.smith26[at]mail.dcu.ie)

In charge of the money. Applies for funding for the society. Signs all the cheques and makes sure we're not in the red!

 

Public Relations Officer

Ruth Connolly (ruth.connolly2[at]mail.dcu.ie)

The public relations officer has the duty of designing, printing and distributing posters and sending out the weekly e-mails. The reason people know about Music Soc!

 

Bands Officer

Mike Fenton (michael.fenton2[at]mail.dcu.ie)

Plans and oversees the running of all society events. The help of the whole committee is required to run good events. He has contacts...

 

Equipment Officer

Conor McGinnity (conor.mcginnity2[at]mail.dcu.ie)

Looks after all of our valuble music equipment and has the much sought after role of looking after the glass room and the bookings.

 

Events Officer

Callum O'Riordan (cal_oriordan[at]mail.dcu.ie)

Organises most of the music society events throughout the year. If you have any ideas for events, this is the one to talk to!

 

Sponsorship Officer

Richie Nolan (richie86[at]live.ie)

He is in charge of seeking sponsorship for music soc events and if the SPC can't fund something we would like for our members.

 

Trad Officer

Ross Hannon (ross.hannon2[at]mail.dcu.ie)

Ross looks after all things trad in DCU, including organising the trad group and all the events they can play at around campus.

 

Choir Officer

Anshu Nicodemus (anshu.nicodemus2[at]mail.dcu.ie)

The choir officer's job is to keep the choir organised and make them as involved in music soc events as possible.

 

Jazz Officer

Kerrie McDonnell (kerriemcdonnell[at]hotmail.com)

The Jazz officer is in charge of helping out with the jazz band and arranging gigs and outings for them.

 

First Year Rep

Ciarán Mooney (mooney.ciaran9[at]mail.dcu.ie)

Ciarán is there to help first year students who have any queries/suggestions regarding the society and also to show them that society life is one of the funnest things a student can be part of!

 

Webmaster

The webmaster is in charge of keeping the website up to date and to add new functionality as required. Suggestions welcome! Just send an email.
